Bratislava, November 13 (TASR) - Slovaks intend to spend far less money on Christmas than consumers in the majority of other European countries. This is according to a survey by Deloitte company, with its results released on Saturday.
On average, Slovak consumers who participated in the survey aim to fork out €435 on Christmas presents, food and events. Only consumers in Greece, the Netherlands, Ukraine and Russia will be more modest than Slovaks in the Christmas time.
Compared to last year's Christmas period, consumers in Slovakia are planning on cutting down their expenditure by an average of 1.6 percent.
As regards expenses towards Christmas gifts, more than 25 percent of those questioned said that they'll spend less money than for Christmas presents last year, while around half of the respondents said that their expenditure will be, more or less, the same. A total of 23 percent of those asked plan to be more generous when it comes to Christmas gifts.
