Bratislava, November 12 (TASR) - The prices of goods and services rose by 1 percent year-on-year in October, a figure 0.1 percentage points lower than the one recorded in September, the Statistics Office announced on Friday.
Meanwhile, prices remained unchanged month-on-month.
The year-on-year rise in prices was mainly due to increases in the prices of alcohol and tobacco (4.9 percent). Prices in education went up by 4.5 percent, while those of foodstuffs and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 4.2 percent in annual terms.
Conversely, furniture prices fell by 3 percent year-on-year.
Core and net inflation in October stood at 1.4 percent and 0.5 percent, respectively.
Between January and October 2010, meanwhile, prices grew by 0.9 percent y-o-y.
