Bratislava, November 11 (TASR) - Slovaks will no longer have to travel to Vienna in order to officially communicate with Cyprus after the Mediterranean country opened its Embassy in Bratislava on Thursday.
The first Cypriot Ambassador to Slovakia is Marios Kountourides. Listing his priorities, he said he will mostly focus on strengthening the already excellent relations between the two countries. He added that he would also be seeking ways to intensify business contacts between Bratislava and Nicosia.
Kountourides also thanked Slovakia for the "warm welcome" he has received.
The Embassy was opened in Bratislava's Old Town, on Michalska Street, by the presidents of both countries, Slovak President Ivan Gasparovic and Cypriot head of state Demetris Christofias, who is currently here on an official visit.
