Bratislava, November 11 (TASR) - Interior Minister Daniel Lipsic repudiated information that high-profile lawyer Ernest Valko, who was shot dead on Monday, was killed by two bullets rather than by a single bullet as was announced both by the police and the ministry earlier this week, according to a ministry statement out on Thursday.
"No second shot hit Valko's body. Rumours of a sort of 'shot for safety' was also dispelled by a medical forensics specialist who was at the crime scene as well as by the autopsy," said Lipsic in his statement.
Plus Jeden Den daily wrote on Thursday that Valko was killed by two shots - one in Valko's chest and one in the head, contrary to police and ministry reports.
In addition, Lipsic said that the "indisputable theory" that the motive for the murder needs to be sought in one of the cases in which Valko was involved as a legal expert is also mere speculation.
"If any security analyst has credible information regarding the murder motive then they should notify law-enforcement authorities in the first place. The media should only follow afterwards," said Lipsic. He also noted that all those commenting on such events ought to have respect for facts or run the risk of losing their trustworthiness.
The prominent lawyer and former head of the Czech-Slovak Federal Constitutional Court was shot dead in his house in Limbach near Bratislava on Monday night.
