Bratislava, November 10 (TASR) - Files relating to the murder on Monday of prominent lawyer Ernest Valko were submitted to the Prosecutor-General's Office on Wednesday morning, TASR was told by the Office's spokesperson Jana Tokolyova.
The file was submitted by the district prosecutor's office whose territory includes the village of Limbach near Bratislava, where Valko was shot dead in his house on Monday evening.
The investigation into Valko's murder has now been taken over by the Prosecutor-General's Office, this has already been confirmed by Prosecutor-General Dobroslav Trnka, sme.sk reported on Tuesday evening.
"Due to the seriousness of the crime I've decided that the investigation will be overseen by a special unit that was created at the Office for such cases. So, we'll have the files from the district prosecutor's office available on Wednesday," the webpage quoted Trnka as saying.
Trnka also expressed regret at Valko's murder. "I knew him personally, so it hit me even harder. Even if we didn't share the same opinions on every issue, I deeply valued his judicial precision," said Trnka.
