Bratislava, November 10 (TASR) - The Finance Ministry is launching public private partnership (PPP) projects in Slovakia's regions, Jana Kolesarova from the Finance Ministry said at a Slovak PPP Forum conference on Wednesday.
"We've received six projects so far, three are active," said Kolesarova, head of the ministry's department for partner projects.
All three active projects are in their initial stages at the moment, she noted. Two of them will be carried out in Kosice, and the other in Zilina. They will be focused on building infrastructure and business incubators.
According to Kolesarova, the advantage of such projects is that the ministry assists in the ventures while part of the expenditures are reimbursed from EU funds.
A total of €7.6 million has been set aside in the 2007-13 programme period towards refunding expenses incurred in the creation of feasibility studies for specific projects. "These funds haven't been spent as yet," added Kolesarova.
