New York, November 9 (TASR) - Slovakia as a country attractive for foreign investments was the topic of negotiations between Slovak Prime Minister Iveta Radicova and U.S.American entrepreneurs in New York on Tuesday.
Almost 20 representatives of American entrepreneur and financial circles - for example Morgan Stanley, Honeywell, Elderson Technology Partners, Credit Suisse Securities or Nomura Holding America - were interested in Government's measures which should support the economic growth and the flow of foreign investments to the country.
Radicova pointed to Slovakia as a country with stable economy and financial system, which carries on with its important economic reforms. She said that the priorities of Slovak Government are to improve the business conditions, make the labour market more flexible, reform the education system and improve public finances.
The Slovak Premier presented a proposal to pass the so-called "budget Constitution" to the American business community. This should introduce spending limits as well as limits on the public debt. "Slovakia is and will be a good place to make business, open to all investors with added value," said Radicova, adding that Slovakia is mainly interested in investments in modern technologies, research and development.
Currently, there are around 120 American investors in Slovakia, representing a quarter of all foreign investors in the country.
