Tax Incomes Down by Almost One Tenth From Expectations

Bratislava, November 9 (TASR) - The state collected 9.9 percent less money in taxes than originally planned in the first ten months of this year, according to data provided by the Tax Directorate on Tuesday.

The amount of tax collected between January-October 2010 reached €6.47 billion, but €710.83 million more than this was anticipated.

Incomes from penalties imposed by tax inspections have dropped most significantly when compared to the expected amount - by 54 percent. Tax incomes from individuals have shrunk by almost 39 percent, while those collected from legal entities are down by 35.5 percent.

In the same period of last year, the shortfall in tax collected was much lower - at only 0.71 percent.

The state plans to receive a total of €8.62 billion in taxes this year. Around 75.09 percent of this sum has already been collected.
