Slovakia Drawing EU Funds on Level of 10.7% in Current Funding Period

Bratislava, November 8 (TASR) - Slovakia has drawn 10.7 percent of the EU Funds available in the programme period 2007-2013 as of the end of October, which represents €1.23 billion out of the available €11.498 billion from the EU Funds – and the figure includes the money allocated from the Slovak budget.

This information was provided on Monday by the Finance Ministry, which is the central payment body for the EU Funds agenda in Slovakia. The agenda consists of 11 Operational Programmes, which are managed by ministries as well as by Government Office. The Transport, Construction and Regional Development Ministry was given the power to co-ordinate this agenda on November 1.

According to the decision made by the European Commission, the n+3 rule is applied, which means that the approved financial means may be additionally drawn for three years after the end of the seven-year period.

As much as €11.36 billion was originally appropriated, but this amount was later revised and increased to €11.498 billion.
