Bratislava, November 5 (TASR) - Two fighter planes MIG-29 were on Friday afternoon tested by the Slovak Army, reaching supersonic speed over central-eastern parts of Slovakia, TASR has learnt from the Defence Ministry.
Ministry spokesman Ivan Rudolf said that the test flights may have caused what is known as a sonic boom – sounding similar to strong explosion. Rudolf added that the test is a usual part of military trainings, and is absolutely harmless, representing no risk at all.
The ministry apologised to citizens living in the affected areas for any inconvenience the sonic boom may have caused.
