Bratislava, December 17 (TASR) - The Foreign Affairs Ministry doesn't need to comment on the activities of the Hungarian MPs of the Forum of the Carpathian Basin (KMFK), ministry spokesman Peter Stano told TASR on Thursday.
The ministry spokesman was referring to KMKF turning to the Council of Europe and European Parliament to deal with the Slovak Act.
According to Stano, in the case of the Slovak Language Act, Slovakia's appropriate partners are the relevant international institutions – namely the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and OSCE High Commissioner for National Minorities Knut Vollebaek.
Former Hungarian parliamentary vice-chair Katalin Szili said at the beginning of the KMFK's session in Budapest on the same day that KMKF will, via a letter, turn to Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Lluis Maria de Puiga, as well as EP Chairman (speaker) Jerzy Buzek.
"We want to inform them about the development in this, for us, unacceptable situation," said Szili, adding that during their visit to Budapest, both European politicians spoke about their efforts to help Hungary on this issue.
