Bratislava, October 29 (TASR) - Slovakia and Israel have declared interest in developing bilateral relations in a dynamic way, and Slovak Defence Minister Lubomir Galko in Bratislava on Friday submitted three options for co-operation to his Israeli counterpart Ehud Barak.
"We've offered our partner the chance to use our specialised training facilities at the Specialised Healthcare Institute in Lest (Banska Bystrica region) ... and a bilateral exchange of experience in the sphere of specialised training," said Galko.
The Slovak side also offered co-operation when it comes to disarming unexploded devices. In this connection, Slovakia is building a NATO excellency centre, while Israel can provide a great deal of experience and expertise.
The third possible area in which experience can be shared is in training Israeli soldiers to use the Bozena 4 mine-clearance flailing machines. "[That is] if Israel decides to buy and use these machines produced by the Slovak Defence Industry," said Galko.
The two ministers also agreed to set up a group of experts from both countries who will look into possible ways of putting these options into practice.
"We're really looking forward to further ways of co-operating," confirmed Barak, who also expressed his appreciation for the fact that the Slovak side welcomed him by playing the Israeli anthem. "That was really very moving for us," he added.
