Airport Handled 186,000 Travellers in September, Over Half with Ryanair

Bratislava, October 27 (TASR) - Bratislava's M.R. Stefanik Airport (BTS) handled 186,784 passengers in September, which represents a rise of 34,161 year-on-year, airport spokesperson Dana Madunicka told TASR on Wednesday.
A total of 1,353,458 passengers used the airport over the first nine months, a 3-percent drop in annual terms. No-frills Ryanair tops the list of airlines when it comes to the number of passengers, as Ryanair's clients accounted for 62.5 percent of all travellers (845,320 people) between January and September.
When it comes to September, Ryanair carried 105,862 passengers, followed by a wide margin by charter carriers Travel Service and Central Charter Airlines Slovakia (54,470 and 6,774 travellers, respectively).
A year-on-year rise in cargo transport was observed, too. A total of 1,517 tonnes of cargo were transported from or to the airport, a rise of 16 percent vis-a-vis September 2009.
