€1.3 Million Allocated to Support Slovak Compatriots

Bratislava, October 26 (TASR) - More than €1.3 million will be allocated to the grant system of the Office for Slovaks Living Abroad next year in order to support the activities of Slovak compatriots, according to the Office's report that was reviewed by MPs on Tuesday.
More than €1.9 million was allocated for this purpose in 2009 and was used for ongoing reconstruction of the school building with education in Slovak located in Uzhgorod, Ukraine or the reconstruction of Jan Kollar High School in Bacsky Petrovec, Vojvodina, Serbia.
According to estimates, there are some two million Slovak compatriots living in some 50 countries around the world.
