Bratislava, October 26 (TASR) - Slovakia and Norway have agreed on the further drawing of resources by Slovakia from the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEA) and Norwegian funds worth €80.75 million in order to introduce anti-flood measures, combat climate change and domestic violence and develop a civil society.
A memo of understanding setting the grant priorities for 2009-14, was signed on Tuesday by Prime Minister Iveta Radicova and Norwegian Foreign Affairs Minister Jonas Gahr Store. Radicova praised the contributions made by Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein to the EEA Financial Mechanism, which is designed to reduce economic and social gaps within the European Economic Area.
"I'm delighted to say that Slovakia is among the first 15 countries to sign a memo of understanding. This demonstrates intensive and outstanding bilateral co-operation," said Radicova.
