Bratislava, October 25 (TASR) - The prices of goods and services in Slovakia should increase at a slightly slower rate this year than was previously expected, with bank analysts in October slightly reducing their estimates for average inflation for 2010 from the 1.8 percent expected in September to 1.6 percent, Slovakia's central bank (NBS) has reported.
Estimates of GDP growth remained at the same level. The analysts expect that the Slovak economy will have grown by 4.1 percent in fixed prices in 2010.
The Finance Ministry's estimate is a little less optimistic, as it expects GDP to have grown by 4 percent. NBS itself puts its estimate at 4.3-percent, warning at the same time, however, that growth will decelerate considerably next year.
