Police Searching Bratislava Airport for Bomb

Bratislava, October 21 (TASR) - Police arrived Thursday afternoon at Bratislava's M.R. Stefanik airport in search of a bomb that was reported via an anonymous e-mail.

An unknown perpetrator is demanding money, allegedly one million euros to defuse the situation.

"Upon arriving on the site, police evacuated the airport and are currently carrying out a pyrotechnic examination, using sniffer dogs to locate any explosives," Bratislava police spokesman Frantisek Peczar told TASR.

The airport has temporarily suspended its operation. "For now, all transport at the airport is suspended, and all airplanes rerouted," airport spokesperson Dana Madunicka told TASR.
