Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barak to Visit Slovakia

Bratislava, October 20 (TASR) - Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barak is coming to visit Slovakia in the next few days, the Slovak Defence Ministry press department told TASR on Wednesday.
Barak's official visit to Slovakia will take place only several days after his Slovak counterpart Lubomir Galko visited Israel. In Tel Aviv, the two ministers discussed the options for co-operation in the fight against international terrorism, removing unexploded devices and in the defence industry.
During his three-day visit, Minister Galko also informed the Israeli side about the austerity measures introduced by the Slovak Government in order to consolidate public finances. "This is one of the reasons why the Defence Ministry has to carry out transparent and efficient public procurements," said Galko.
