Radicova: Czech-Slovak Military Co-Operation Could Save Money

Bratislava/Prague, October 18 (TASR) - Slovakia and the Czech Republic concur that common ground needs to be found in the field of defence that would allow joint financing of some elements, Prime Minister Iveta Radicova said after her meeting with Czech Senate Speaker Premysl Sobotka on Monday.

"This would save financial resources for both countries," said Radicova, who is on a one-day visit to the Czech Republic.

Sobotka welcomes the prospect of military co-operation, calling it "a relationship among two befriended armies".

Radicova also discussed the issue with her Czech counterpart Petr Necas. The two politicians also talked about the economic crisis and its consequences, diversification of energy sources and the loan to Greece to which Slovakia refused to contribute.
