Foreign Affairs Minister Dzurinda to Meet Hillary Clinton

Bratislava, October 17 (TASR) - Slovak Foreign Affairs Minister Mikulas Dzurinda on Sunday left for an official visit to the United States of America, where he is due to meet his counterpart - U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Dzurinda is to return to Slovakia on Tuesday, October 19.

"The two ministers will discuss Slovak-American relations, current foreign policy and security issues, including developments in Afghanistan and co-operation between the EU and the U.S.A. in the Western Balkans region," said Foreign Ministry spokesman Lubos Schwarzbacher.

Apart from Clinton, Dzurinda will also meet representatives of the Pentagon and the U.S. National Security Council.

The Slovak minister will also discuss new technologies with National Academy Scholar and Director of the Program on Technology, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship Charles Wessner. At the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Dzurinda will present the process of Slovakia's economic transformation to representatives of American companies and financial institutions.
