Radicova: I'll Contribute To House Construction in Flood-stricken Nizna Mysla

Bratislava, October 16 (TASR) - Slovak Prime Minister Iveta Radicova (SDKU-DS) plans to launch a electronic auction for the construction of houses in flood-stricken village of Nizna Mysla (Kosice region), she said in an interview for TASR on Saturday.

Radicova explained that from this auction, the best offer should be chosen and she will use money from her reserve to contribute to the construction financially.

Erosion caused by the heavy floods at the beginning of June resulted in 26 housed having to be torn down in Nizna Mysla. People who lost their houses are currently living in container houses at the end of the village.

The Prime Minister declared she will not pay manicure or hairdresser for a fitness model from her reserve, referring to former prime minister Robert Fico allocating a contribution of €17,000 from his reserve to a fitness model Eva Martinkova, who used some of the money to have her nails manicured before a contest.

Radicova said that the money she currently has in the reserve are designated for financing of essential help to tackle the impact of floods as well as other crisis situations. She said the Government immediately paid for the rescue work in the regions affected by floods. "Before, the towns and villages were waiting for a year or two to obtain the money, now they had the money on their accounts within a month," she added.
