Dzurinda to Meet Hillary Clinton While on Visit to USA

Bratislava, October 15 (TASR) - Slovak Foreign Affairs Minister Mikulas Dzurinda (SDKU-DS) is slated to meet U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as part of his upcoming three-day visit to the U.S.A., ministry spokesman Lubos Schwarzbacher told TASR on Friday.

Dzurinda is set to leave for the U.S. this coming Sunday. "Dzurinda and Clinton will discuss Slovak-U.S. relations, current foreign-policy and security issues, including the latest developments in Afghanistan and co-operation between the U.S.A. and the European Union in the western Balkans," said the spokesman.

Furthermore, Dzurinda will also hold talks with Pentagon representatives and the National Security Council.

According to Schwarzbacher, Dzurinda's visit will have an economic dimension, too. New technologies will be addressed at meetings with Charles Wessner, Director of the Program on Technology, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship at the National Academy of Sciences.

At the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Dzurinda will present a video on Slovakia's economic transformation. As part of the interactive presentation, experts will be briefed on conditions and opportunities for further development of trade and investment between the two countries.
