EU-harmonised Inflation at Zero in November

Bratislava, December 16 (TASR) - Year-on-year inflation measured by EU-harmonised methodology stood at zero in November 2009, the Statistics Office said on Wednesday.
Prices grew by 0.3 percent month-on-month in November.
EU-harmonised inflation went into minus figures for the first time in Slovakia in October, standing at -0.1 percent.
Inflation measured by national methodology, according to figures published last week, stagnated in November at the October level of 0.4 percent, a record low.
According to calculations made for November in line with EU methodology, alcohol and tobacco prices grew most rapidly (by 8.9 percent), followed by the prices of healthcare services (7.6 percent). The biggest year-on-year drop was registered in the prices of food and non-alcoholic drinks (5.1 percent) and in furniture, household equipment and routine maintenance (3.2 percent).
