Bratislava, December 16 (TASR) - A total of €624 million has been allocated to the International Support Fund for Decommissioning the V1 Reactor at Jaslovske Bohunice (BIDSF) so far, states a report submitted by the Economy Ministry to the Government's session on Wednesday.
The Report On the Fund's Activities in 2009 states that the EU has been the main contributor to the fund for decommissioning the nuclear reactor, providing €90 million in pre-entry assistance to Slovakia from PHARE Funds and another €100 million in the 2004-06 period. Finally, €423 million has been allocated from the so-called Financial Perspective 2007-13 programme. BIDSF has also received financial resources from other contributors, amounting to another €11 million.
A total of 19 grant agreements regarding 46 projects have been concluded so far.
The Economy Ministry submitted the materials to the Government, as the ministry supervises and co-ordinates the decommissioning process under the framework agreement between Slovakia and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). In co-operation with the European Bank, the ministry extended the activities of BIDSF until the end of 2016.
