Slovakia Steel Mills To Create More Than 750 Jobs In Eastern Slovakia

Bratislava, December 16 (TASR) - The joint stock company Slovakia Steel Mills will create more than 750 jobs in Strazske (Kosice region). Investment related to the construction of a still plant and rolling mill plant will bring 350 direct and 400 indirect jobs to Eastern Slovakia. The company estimates than another 700 jobs will be created vis-a-vis the construction works.
According to Slovakia Steel Mills general director Jan Tusima, the construction of the halls is currently reaching the final stage. "Construction works should be finished in latter half of 2010, then we plan to launch a trial production," said Tusima.
The company currently employs 30 people mainly in management positions, however, it plans to hire workers and technicians to secure the operation of the rolling mill and still plant in future.
