Bratislava, October 11 (TASR) - German investors would welcome more flexibility in the Slovak Labour Code, said Markus Halt from the PR department of the Slovak-German Trade and Industrial Chamber (SNOPK) on Monday.
Halt was summarising Monday's meeting between SNOPK representatives and Labour, Social Affairs and the Family Minister Jozef Mihal, at which the two sides discussed ways of making labour legislative more flexible, along with proposed changes to the Labour Code and Collective Bargaining Act.
"The SNOPK delegation accepted the invitation of minister Mihal. In this way he indicated that he is ready for an open dialogue and is willing to factor the trade chamber's proposals into the preparation of amendments to the two acts," said Halt.
"SNOPK will continue to develop co-operation with the minister on this issue and will by the end of November submit practical examples and legislative adjustments aimed at more flexibility sourced from labour legislation in Germany," he added.
According to SNOPK, more flexibility in labour legislation would encourage companies to hire more employees.
The chamber represents the interests of 300 member companies that employ 72,000 people in Slovakia and have a joint turnover worth a total of €13 billion.
