Miklos: Slovakia Borrowed €2 Billion via State Bonds

Bratislava, October 6 (TASR) - Slovakia has borrowed €2 billion on the financial markets via 15-year government bonds at a 4.373-percent interest rate, Finance Minister Ivan Miklos (SDKU-DS) said at a press briefing held on Wednesday.

The investor demand for bonds has reached €4.3 billion. "We managed to issue bonds today roughly comparable to the Italian bonds and under the level of Polish bonds," said Miklos.

He considers the successful issue of 15-year government bonds to be one of two good news of the day, with the other being the passing of the state budget by the Government. "The budget for 2011 will recover the public finances' health state, as we no longer tread the Greek path," he added.
