More than 34,000 People Want to Change Their Health Insurer This Year

Bratislava, September 26 (TASR) – More than 34,000 policyholders by mid-September applied for a change of their health-insurance company, spokesperson of the Healthcare Supervisory Authority (UDZS) Radoslava Miklasova has told TASR.
UDZS accepts applications for a change of insurer until September 30, 2010 and the change will be carried out as of January 1, 2011, Miklasova specified. Thus, policyholders, who are not satisfied with their health insurer, have only a few days left to find a new provider. This change can be carried out once a year, with the new application sent to one health insurer.
Those who are interested in such a change should first make sure that their general practitioner or doctors whom they may more often visit have a contract signed with their desired health insurer. This is the most important factor for providing the policyholder with healthcare without any complications.
