Dzurinda Meets Lavrov and Clinton to Discuss Foreign Policy Issues

New York, September 22 (TASR) - Slovakia's Foreign Affairs Minister Mikulas Dzurinda held talks with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov at the United Nations headquarters in New York on Tuesday, TASR was told by the Slovak Foreign Affairs Ministry's press department on Wednesday.

The two officials discussed energy co-operation. "We'll certainly come to an agreement concerning oil supplies as of 2015 as well," said Lavrov.

Dzurinda and Lavrov also touched on the issue of Russia's relations with the EU, NATO and the U.S.A. The same topic was addressed at a transatlantic dinner hosted by the U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

In addition, the Slovak official delivered an address at a round table event on the Millenium Development Goals. In his speech, entitled 'Support for Sustainable Development', Dzurinda spoke about Slovakia's committment to reducing greenhouse-gas emissions and increasing energy efficiency.

While in New York, Dzurinda also signed an agreement with Australia concerning social security payments.
