Bibiana Showcases Award-Winning Illustrations for Children's Books

Bratislava, September 20 (TASR) - In the coming days in the U.S. capital Washington the Bratislava-based international house of art for children Bibiana will showcase the best illustrations for children's books from 43 years of its biennial illustrations competition BIB in Slovakia, the Culture Ministry reported on Monday.
In two exhibitions organised in conjunction with the American Embassy to Slovakia, Bibiana will show illustrations created by Slovak and European Union artists who have been awarded at the Bienale Ilustracii Bratislava over more than four decades.
The Slovak BIB award-winning illustrators 1967-2009 will take place September 20-24 at the United Nations HQ on the sidelines of the 65th session of General Assembly. It will feature works by Albin Brunovsky, Dusan Kallay, Ondrej Zimka and other noted Slovak artists.
Between October 4, 2010-January 7, 2011, the Children's National Medical Center gallery in Washington, DC will provide the venue for the "Illustrators from European Union awarded at BIB from 1967-2009" event held as part of the EU KIDS FESTIVAL - a gala festival of arts and culture organised by the EU embassies in Washington.
