Vietnamese President to Visit Slovakia and Sign Several Agreements

Bratislava, December 15 (TASR) - A series of intergovernmental co-operation agreements is expected to be signed between Slovakia and Vietnam during a three-day official visit by Vietnamese President Nguyen Minh Triet and his entourage to Slovakia starting on Wednesday, the Slovak President's Office announced on Tuesday.

Vietnam delegates include public officials as well as entrepreneurs who will meet with their Slovak counterparts at an economic forum planned to take place at Borik Hotel in Bratislava.

The Vietnamese head-of-state will meet for talks with Slovakia's most senior officials President Ivan Gasparovic, Chairman of Parliament Pavol Paska and at a working luncheon with Prime Minister Robert Fico.

"In the Asian region Vietnam represents a significant economic partner for Slovakia. The documents to be signed include an agreement on support and mutual protection of investments, a memorandum of understanding between the foreign affairs ministries, an agreement on co-operation between Vietnam's state audit office and the Supreme Audit Office (NKU) of Slovakia.
