Bratislava, September 13 (TASR) - The most recent opinion poll puts the turnout for Saturday's referendum at below 20 percent. According to findings in early September, only slightly above 10 percent (10.4 percent) of respondents are definitely going to take part in the plebiscite.
Conducted from August 31-September 7 on a sample of 1,040 respondents, the survey further revealed that middle-age voters (45 to 64) have shown a relatively high amount of interest, while younger voters (up to 45 years of age, especially those of between 18-24) and retirement-age voters (over 65) expressed lower interest in voting in the referendum.
The interest in the referendum grows with educational attainment, meaning that respondents with higher education are more inclined to vote in the referendum.
Respondents expressed most support (86.3 percent) for the proposed reduction in the number of MPs from 150 to 100. The relatively lowest approval (44 percent) was registered for the removal of the public officials' option to exercise their right to reply under the Press Act passed by the former government.
