Bratislava, September 13 (TASR) - The NATO Military Committee, the alliance's most senior military body, is scheduled to hold a conference from September 17-19 in the town of Vysoke Tatry, Slovakia, defence ministry spokesman Milan Vanga said on Monday.
Chiefs of staffs of the alliance's 28 member countries headed by the committee's chairman, Admiral Giampaola di Paola, will discuss issues surrounding NATO transformation, and the future of operations conducted under the alliance's command.
The event is being hosted by the Slovak Armed Forces in conjunction with the Ministry of Defence. More than 450 guests will converge on the alpine town.
NATO Military Committee holds away-sessions in rotation once a year in a member country. As a venue for the event Slovakia was preceded by Portugal, while Spain takes over in 2011.
