Bratislava, September 13 (TASR) - The state has collected 11.3-percent less in taxes than originally planned so far this year, according to data on state-budget incomes.
Some €5.1 billion in taxes was collected in the period between January-August, but original estimates projected €647.70 million more than this.
Income from tax inspection penalties, amounting to €592,109, saw the most significant shortfall - of almost 52 percent. Income-tax collection, at €881.18 million, was 41 percent short.
Tax incomes dropped even more significantly compared to the figure collected in the same period last year, by 23.4 percent. The state planned to collect a total of €8.62 billion this year, but had garnered only 40.85 percent of this sum to the end of August.
