Employers: Radicova Promised Not to Raise Levies Long Term

Bratislava, September 6 (TASR) - Prime Minister Iveta Radicova has made a promise to us that the Government won't raise social contributions long term, head of the Association of Employers' Unions (AZZZ) Tomas Malatinsky said following his meeting with Radicova on Monday.

"The overall objective is to cut contributions. Measures that may raise some items within contributions or abolish others will only be temporary. Social contributions should eventually be lower," said Malatinsky, adding that this conclusion partly stems from his talks with Radicova.

An improvement in the social dialogue was also addressed at the meeting. "The social dialogue ought to be balanced in economic issues, too," he stressed.

The association embraced the fact that the general secretary of the tripartite - a three-sided social dialogue involving employers, trade unions and the state - is from the Economy Ministry.

"This means that the tripartite doesn't only deal with social issues. This is the right path," added Malatinsky.
