Slovak Wines and Mineral Waters Attract Interest at EXPO 2010

Shanghai, September 4 (TASR correspondent) - Slovakia's mineral waters, wines and glass products have attracted the largest number of investors to the Slovak exposition at the World EXPO in the Chinese city of Shanghai, TASR learnt on Saturday.

General Commissioner of Slovakia's representation at the event Ivana Magatova said that several contracts have to this day been signed between the two countries. However, sealing deals isn't a simple issue in China, as "a contract isn't signed right after presentation," she stressed.

She was speaking on the occasion of Slovakia's National Pavilion Day, which fell on Saturday, September 4.

Meanwhile, Magatova went on to defend the Slovak pavilion which, according to some media, has not exactly been a resounding success.

"Each pavilion that's here brings in something different, something creative. We strived to present Slovakia as, on the one hand, a green relaxing country with a blue sky, but on the other hand, we wanted to show life in our cities, and I believe that we've accomplished this via our movie," said Magatova.

Meanwhile, some media have reported recently that there have been numerous complaints from visitors regarding the pavilion's insufficient promotion activities prior to the event as well as its poor organisation and food at the exhibition itself.
