Bratislava, August 31 (TASR) - Three people injured in the shooting rampage that took place in the Bratislava borough of Devinska Nova Ves on Monday, which cost the lives of eight people, including the gunman himself, remain in a serious condition, TASR was told on Tuesday by Faculty Hospital in Bratislava spokesperson Rut Gerzova.
"One patient in Kramare Hospital and another in Antolska Hospital [are particularly serious cases]. They're being kept in an artificial coma and are in a very serious condition, but so far stabilised," said Gerzova, pointing out that their condition could change.
Gerzova said that one wounded man who underwent a surgery at Ruzinov Hospital has been revived from an artificial coma. "He's communicating, and we could say that he's improved slightly," she said. Another five patients at facilities that make up the Faculty Hospital suffered relatively lighter injuries. "They underwent operations yesterday, some of them not at all, they are conscious and communicating," added Gerzova.
A 50-year-old man, still officially unidentified, shot dead five members of a Roma family in their own home before going on a shooting spree outside on the street. The death toll includes the gunman himself, who shot himself when cornered by police.
