Up to 81 percent of Slovaks consider this condition bad, while 40 percent of respondents expect it to become even worse. Only 19 percent expect economy to improve and 38 percent expect no change in the condition of the economy in the near future. As for the long-term expectations, Slovaks are more positive than other EU members. Up to 75 percent of Slovaks expect an optimistic development.

The most reliable international institution for the solving of the crisis is, according to Slovaks, the European Union (EU). Up to 30 percent of Slovaks consider it the most competent in the fight against the consequences of the crisis. The second most trustworthy institution in this respect in Slovakia is G20 (28 percent) and the third is the International Monetary Fund (IMF/14 percent), TASR was told by Katarina Touquet Jaremova from the Representation of the European Commission in Slovakia.
