Fico: I'm Missing Elementary Duel Between Left and Right

Bratislava, December 14 (TASR) - While the left part of the political spectrum in Slovakia is consolidated and proposes a clear programme, the Right doesn't offer any alternative, Premier and Smer-SD head Robert Fico said at the HN Club discussion on Monday.
"It's only empty talk, nothing else," said Fico commenting on the situation of the Opposition. He added that he is missing the elementary duel between the Left and the Right.
Touching on the planned meeting of opposition parties (Tuesday) that supported new Bratislava governor Pavol Freso (SDKU-DS) in his election campaign, Fico said that he isn't interested in it. "It's their matter, I'm not interested in it; it's only talk, talk, talk," said the premier.
Slovakia would be better with formation of two strong political blocs - the Left and the Right, said Fico. "We've integrated seven political parties. Why hasn't the Right done the same?" asked Fico.
At the same time, Fico said he doesn't expect the Right to integrate in the near future. "Mr. (Jan) Figel (Christian Democrats/KDH) would have come to an agreement with Mr. (Mikulas) Dzurinda (SDKU-DS), Mr. Dzurinda with Mr. (Pal) Csaky (ethnic-Hungarian SMK), and Mr. Csaky with who knows whom. I think this is very unlikely," said the Smer leader.
