Bratislava, August 26 (TASR) - The improvement in Slovakia's economy that began to set in this year has also had an influence on electricity consumption, according to an Economy Ministry report released on Thursday.
"In the first four months of this year, consumption of electricity in Slovakia rose by 4 percent compared to the same period of 2009. Based on these changes, the long-term prognosis for electricity consumption has also been updated. We can expect that due to the economic crisis, electricity consumption will reach the levels seen in 2008 as late as in 2012," reads the report.
The Economy Ministry forecast that electricity consumption will reach 28.6 terawatt hours (TWh) in 2010, while it should climb to 29.3 TWh in 2011, and 30 TWh in 2012.
