Another Patient Dies with Novel Flu in Banska Bystrica

Banska Bystrica, December 14 (TASR) - Another patient with the novel A(H1N1) flu has died at F.D. Roosevelt Faculty Hospital in Banska Bystrica, TASR was told by director of the hospital Jan Sulaj on Monday.

This is the second case of death from the novel flu in the hospital, noted Sulaj, who added that the female patient was around 40 years old and died last week. "She had a serious lung disease, so two serious conditions met at once and showed their strength," he said.

Sulaj also reported that the hospital has forbidden visits as a preventive measure. "Currently we don't have any patient with the novel flu who could be in serious condition," said Sulaj.

The first patient with the novel flu that died in the hospital in Banska Bystrica was a woman after childbirth, who also had lung problems.

Slovakia's total of deaths related to A(H1N1) is now 18, though in the vast majority of cases there were other conditions that contributed to the deaths.
