Bratislava, August 24 (TASR) - Electricity-generator Slovenske Elektrarne (SE) is continuing work aimed at completing the 3rd and 4th blocks of the nuclear power plant at Mochovce (Nitra region) in line with the schedule, Economy Minister Juraj Miskov (Freedom and Solidarity/SaS) learnt during his meeting with SE representatives on Monday.
"The aim of the first meeting with the new leadership of the (economy) ministry was to inform the minister about planned investments and the overall situation in the company," said the Economy Ministry's communications department on Tuesday.
Miskov and SE general director and CEO Paolo Ruzzini discussed already-implemented and planned investments, the process of completing the privatisation of the company, and issues pertaining to the National Nuclear Fund. "The two sides agreed on further co-operation," said the Economy Ministry.
Slovenske Elektrarne is the largest producer of electricity in Slovakia and the second-largest in Central and Eastern Europe. Since its privatisation was completed in April 2006, Italian company Enel has controlled a 66-percent stake in the company, while the remaining 34 percent is in the possession of the National Property Fund (FNM), whose share-holder rights are controlled by the Economy Ministry.
