Bratislava, August 24 (TASR) - Mutual economic co-operation and current economic and financial issues in European politics will be the main topics of discussion between Slovak Prime Minister Iveta Radicova and German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin on Wednesday.
Radicova will start her one-day visit to Germany by meeting the country's President Christian Wulff. They will discuss the possibilities of enhancement of mutual co-operation, especially in the economic sphere, new technologies and innovations, science and the education system.
Merkel has already announced earlier that she will discuss Slovakia's refusal to provide a loan to Greece, which has been criticised by Germany – the largest contributor to the bail-out scheme – the most.
Parliament decided on August 11 that Slovakia won't provide Greece with a bilateral loan that was supposed to reach €816 million over the next three years. Out of 84 MPs, 69 voted against the loan, with the largest parliamentary party Smer-SD MPs not taking part in the voting.
