Trnava, August 23(TASR) - The Slovak subsidiary of French car-maker PSA Peugeot-Citroen has resumed two-shift production following a three-week shutdown for a company-wide holiday, a spokesperson told TASR on Monday.
This week's afternoon shifts will last an extra hour in order to satisfy customer demand.
The PSA unit in Trnava, which produces the Peugeot 207 and the Citroen C3 Picasso, sees 870 vehicles roll off the assembly lines each day. Last year it assembled 205,000 vehicles, up on 190,000 a year earlier. It employs 3,000 people, with 30 percent of them women. The average age of its staff is 33.
PSA Peugeot-Citroen launched operations with an initial investment of €700 million in Trnava on October 19, 2006, with a further €100 million going into the second C3 Picasso model.
