Bratislava, August 23 (TASR) - Entrepreneurs embrace the planned abolition of tax exemptions but suggest that public finances should also be consolidated via raising excise taxes, head of the Slovak Business Alliance (PAS) Robert Kicina told TASR on Monday.
"We fully back rectification of the deformations in the system of taxes and levies, which nowadays include several exemptions and thereby allows payers to avoid, fully or in part, paying taxes or levies," reads Kicina's statement.
On the other hand, the increase in the base from which levies are paid should be made up for by lowering the levy rates. "Those who use exemptions today would end up paying a little more, while employees and employers, who pay the most in levies, would be unburdened a little," said Kicina.
