SACR: Portal www.slovakia.travel Viewed by 200,275 People in July

Bratislava, Augusta 21 (TASR) – A record of 200,275 visitors on the www.slovakia.travel website about Slovak tourism was registered in July 2010. This was the most viewings this webpage has received since it was set up in 2007, when the portal was viewed by 40,000 people.
Out of the record number exceeding 200,000 visits, 58 percent was Slovaks. Polish visitors were the most active international visitors of the webpage with 18 percent, followed by Hungarians with 7 percent, Czechs with 4 percent and Germans with 3 percent.
The runner of the portal Slovak Tourism Agency (SACR) said that every year the website has been winning more and more regular visitors, who can obtain information about cultural sites, beauties of nature, relax and sport events. They often click on the photo gallery or the map section.
In the first seven months of 2010, as many as 150,000 people visited the portal every month. To make an comparison, the webpage of the European Travel Commission (ETC), which promotes tourism in European countries, has 100,000 visitors on a monthly average.
SACR links the high interest in the webpage to its constant promotion through domestic and international campaigns.
The www.solvakia.travel portal is available in five languages, and contains 4,000 photographs, 1,800 articles, 138 maps, weather forecast and route planner.
