Bratislava, August 17 (TASR) - Prime Minister Iveta Radicova has decided to come back to Slovakia from her holiday abroad earlier than planned due to floods hitting some areas of Slovakia and will arrive on Tuesday evening, the Government Office press department told TASR earlier in the day.
Upon her arrival, she is slated to attend a session of the country's crisis-management team in the town of Handlova (Trencin region) and will then move on to Prievidza and Novaky (Trencin region) in the Horna (Upper) Nitra area that has been hit by heavy flooding that has resulted in at least one casualty.
On Wednesday, Radicova will visit flooded areas in Martin (Zilina region) and at 2 p.m. she will chair a Government session in Bratislava that will address the situation in the areas following the floods.
The Cabinet is set to deal with earmarking funds amounting to €13.3 million towards emergency operations after the floods. Radicova has already decided on setting aside €300,000 from the premier's reserve fund towards repairing damaged infrastructure and assistance to people affected by the natural disaster.
