Car Industry Recorded Major Annual Rise in Job Offers in 1Q10

Bratislava, August 14 (TASR) - The number of job offers rose by 3 percent in the first quarter of 2010 year-on-year, spokesperson for Profesia company Lucia Burianova told TASR on Saturday.
"The most significant annual rise in job offers was seen in the automotive industry, where the number of offers soared by 42 percent. A rise of at least 30 percent was also recorded in the chemical industry, quality management and production sector," added Burianova.
In turn, the steepest fall in the number of job offers was observed in the area of leasing and hire purchase (more than a third). Telecommunications sector, for its part, saw a year-on-year drop of 30 percent, with the number of jobs offers in the pharmaceutical industry falling by 5 percent.
Meanwhile, none of Slovakia's eight regions recorded an annual drop in the total number of job offers. Most notably, Trencin region experienced the highest rise (25 percent).
