Bratislava, August 12 (TASR) - Agriculture Minister Zsolt Simon (Most-Hid) and Transport Minister Jan Figel (Christian Democrats/KDH) on Thursday agreed on how powers concerning the regional development agenda should be divided up.
"The current powers of the Agriculture Ministry will remain as they are stipulated by the current Competencies Act. The powers of the Transport Ministry will be broadened by the co-ordination of the regional development policies," Agriculture Ministry spokesperson Katarina Durica told TASR.
The Transport Ministry is due to be given more powers in a few months, as of November 1, 2010. These should include, for example, the spheres of regional development, tourism and the co-ordination of EU Funds.
