Bratislava, August 12 (TASR) - Opposition Slovak National Party (SNS) vice-chair Anna Belousovova on Thursday urged all members of Parliament to show solidarity with people facing difficult social conditions by agreeing to have their remuneration package cut, as has been proposed by the governing Coalition.
It emerged from a Coalition Council meeting that the Government is contemplating salary cuts for government members (10 percent) as well as for lawmakers.
The fellow opposition Smer-SD party has no problem discussing such a topic, said its communications director Erik Tomas.
At the same time, Belousovova criticised Parliamentary Chairman Richard Sulik's recent flight on a private jet to Austria, with suspicions that it was paid for by an entrepreneur. "This begs the question as to which lawmakers live off their official salaries coupled with other things," she said.
